I'm a life-long "maker" with a special interest in scrap, recycled, and reused materials. My collages and constructions start with a feeling, thought, or mood and evolve as inspired by the materials, color, and texture.
A large part of my process is concerned with acceptance and non-judgment, both of the pieces themselves and the reactions they may evoke. Does that bit of black mean anything? Why or why not? What about that rough edge, or the gracefulness or lack of gracefulness of that form?
In the end, I have a product of the growth, struggle, play and pleasure that is, for me, art making.
